$25–$35/hr, based on experience  •  Part-Time, W-2  •  Growth into a management role for the right person

You're Comfortable With Technology

Technology isn't a nice-to-have on this team — it's part of how every job actually gets done, from the tailgate to the client file. On a normal day you'll be moving between:

  • Google Calendar — to see where you're headed and when
  • Google Drive — to upload before/after photos straight to the client's folder
  • Asana — to check job briefs, mark tasks complete, and flag anything that needs attention
  • Slack — to stay looped in with the crew and the office in real time
  • Google Workspace & Gmail — for day-to-day communication and shared docs
  • Your smartphone camera and GPS — constantly, and without being told to use them

You don't need to be an IT expert. But if you're the person your family calls when they can't figure out their phone or laptop, you'll feel right at home here.

You Want To Grow

We're intentionally starting this role part-time while we build the right core team — but GardenistaJax is growing fast, and the hours will grow with it. For the right person, this can lead to leading crews, managing installs, and taking on real responsibility, with pay that grows alongside it.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING

  • Installing landscapes and planter designs: digging, hauling, placing hardscape and plant material, operating power tools, working full days in Florida heat and humidity
  • Lifting and moving heavy plant material, soil, mulch, and stone as a normal part of the day
  • Following digital install checklists and job briefs pulled up on-site, and completing them in real time — not from memory, on paper, after the fact
  • Documenting completed work with photos uploaded directly to the correct Google Drive client folder, same day
  • Communicating job status, issues, and completions through Asana so the office and the next crew always know exactly where a job stands
  • Referencing Google Calendar for daily job assignments, addresses, and scheduling changes
  • Catching and flagging discrepancies — a missing plant, a wrong count, a site condition that doesn't match the plan — before they become a client problem

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly lifts and carries 50+ lbs of plant material, soil, mulch, and stone
  • Stands, bends, kneels, and works with hands for extended periods outdoors
  • Works full days in Florida heat, humidity, and sun with minimal shade
  • Comfortably and safely operates standard landscaping power tools

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • $25–$35/hour, based on experience, with room to grow
  • Part-time, W-2 position — approximately 10–20 hours per week to start
  • Primary work days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • Hours are expected to increase as GardenistaJax continues to grow
  • Potential for performance-based pay increases and a path to a management position
  • This role does not currently include benefits or mileage reimbursement
  • All tools and equipment are provided

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have your own reliable transportation and a valid driver's license — this role travels to job sites across Jacksonville
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Outdoor, physically active role in all standard Florida working conditions
